Job Summary:

Supports the delivery of specialty training programs for the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) customer while developing the technical, instructional, and administrative skills required to become a Specialty Trainer. Works under the guidance of experienced trainers to assist with classroom and hands-on training activities, equipment maintenance, course preparation, and student support. Participates in certification and professional development activities to progress toward independent training delivery.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist experienced trainers with the delivery of specialty training programs, including welding and collision repair courses.
  • Support training setup, teardown, and daily classroom/lab operations.
  • Maintain training equipment, tools, consumables, and instructional materials under trainer supervision.
  • Learn the operation and proper use of all approved training equipment and tools.
  • Participate in certification activities and work toward achieving required I-CAR and JLR qualifications.
  • Assist with maintaining training schedules, class records, and supporting documentation.
  • Provide administrative support associated with course delivery, event results, and training records.
  • Support procurement, inventory, organization, and maintenance of specialty tools and equipment.
  • Assist with technical research, documentation, and development of training materials as assigned.
  • Respond to participant questions and provide customer support under the guidance of senior trainers.
  • Observe and progressively participate in classroom and hands-on instruction as skills and qualifications are achieved.

 

Skills and Aptitudes:

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop technical and instructional skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in collision repair and welding technology.
  • Ability to present information and interact professionally with diverse audiences.

 

Experience and Education:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of collision repair, automotive, welding, or related skilled trades experience; or equivalent vocational/technical education.
  • Demonstrated interest in training, education, or technical instruction.

 

Desired

  • Collision repair shop experience.
  • Welding experience or formal welding education.
  • Vocational, technical school, or trade school training.
  • Previous experience assisting with training or customer education activities.
