Job Summary: The Manager, IT Applications Development, is responsible for managing a team of software developers responsible for designing, developing, and delivering solutions built on the Salesforce platform. This position will oversee all development activities for multiple agile teams. This role focuses on planning, organizing, and monitoring team activities, ensuring compliance with standards, and facilitating collaboration across teams. The Manager will oversee resources, enforce processes, and support technical alignment. This individual will coach employees and consultants to foster professional growth, improve performance, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:
- Team & Resource Management
- Manage the day-to-day of multiple development teams to deliver the features defined by the agile sprints, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.\
- Monitor team performance, provide coaching, and support professional development.
- Monitor and increase developer efficiency by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing workflows, and promoting best practices
- Provide mentorship on technical decision-making, code quality, and communication to support professional growth.
- Participate in integration and discovery meetings with third-party vendors to clarify technical requirements and constraints.
- Planning & Governance
- Coordinate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for coding standards, code review expectations, and Apex testing best practices to improve SDLC consistency.
- Ensure teams follow established development standards, documentation practices, and code review processes.
- Track and report on project progress, risks, and issues to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with security and change management policies.
- Ensures that production system changes are managed properly and do not impact business operations.
- Agile & Process Management
- Attend and actively contribute to all Agile SCRUM ceremonies, ensuring alignment with development priorities and business objectives.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance team efficiency.
- Technical Oversight & Quality
- Supports robust change and configuration management practices.
- Participate in requirements and solution reviews for all Agiles teams, ensuring feasibility and alignment with business objectives while acting as a technical advisor to ensure maintainability and scalability of solutions.
- Lead peer-to-peer code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices, code quality, and design principles while fostering a culture of constructive feedback, structured code review processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead in documenting and enforcing best practices for development, deployment, and integration, ensuring consistency among all teams.
- Act as a key liaison between Solution Architects and Agile teams, ensuring that architectural vision is properly executed, guiding development teams on best practices, and providing technical leadership on architectural decisions.
- Issue Resolution & Risk Manamagement
- Provide support in troubleshooting development and configuration issues, ensuring quick resolution and minimal business disruption.
- Serve as an escalation point for critical technical issues and facilitate knowledge sharing amongst all teams.
- Establish root cause analysis processes to prevent recurring problems.
- Mitigates system defects and ensures quick response by team members to reduce the impact on I-CAR’s business.
- Analyze and resolve moderate to complex issues during both the development and support phases. Take ownership of escalated issues across all teams and drive them to resolution while coaching team members on problem-solving strategies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, business, or another related field preferred.
- 3+ years of proven team management experience.
- 8+ years of experience working in IT software development.
- Experience working in an Agile Environment.
- Knowledge of security concepts (authentication, single-sign on etc.).
- Competent with GitHub and comfortable managing large git repositories.
- Hands-on experience in Continuous Improvement/Continuous Development. (CI/CD) environments, including development, maintenance, and management.
- Experience with Confluence, Jira, and other Agile Tools preferred.
- Salesforce B2B Commerce experience preferred.
- Salesforce Development experience (Apex, Lightning, Flows, Validation Rules, Approval Rules and SOQL) preferred.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with 3rd party applications preferred.
- Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to coach, mentor and lead a team in accordance with agile methodology and thought leadership.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, impeccable organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask between projects with minimal loss in productivity.
- Ability to work with minimal direction logical and efficient with keen attention to detail.
