Principal, Business Development – Northeast Region


Position Summary

The Principal, Business Development, is responsible for growing revenue and retention by cultivating existing customer relationships and establishing new revenue opportunities within the collision repair industry by supporting and promoting all I-CAR programs and services. This individual serves the collision industry with collision repair businesses, and schools, while interacting with repair professionals (includes technicians, managers, owners, and others), technical school administrators, instructors, and volunteer committees . The role focuses on promoting I-CAR education, training, products, and services while driving growth and revenue generation.

 

Region: Northeast – ME, VT, CT, RI, NH, MA, PA, NY, NJ, MD, DE & WV


Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers across the Northeast region through regular in-person, virtual, and phone interactions.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities by promoting I-CAR education, training, products, and services to collision repair businesses, insurers, OEMs, suppliers, and schools.
  • Serve as a trusted industry liaison, communicating trends, insights, and customer needs to executive leadership.
  • Drive revenue and manage budgets, including interpreting financial statements and meeting regional financial goals.
  • Collaborate on strategic planning, assisting in annual revenue goal setting, forecasting, and campaign execution.
  • Engage volunteer committees and Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, recruiting members, supporting instructors, and participating in career fairs and student events.
  • Deliver impactful presentations at trade shows, industry events, and I-CAR meetings to promote programs and services.
  • Partner with internal teams to support initiatives such as Gold Class recognition, subscription growth, and OEM/insurance relations.
  • Commit to continuous learning through I-CAR training and industry-related professional development.
  • Travel extensively throughout the Northeast region, including overnight stays and occasional weekends.

Job Expectations

 

Required:

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office) and CRM systems.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply financial data to meet revenue goals.

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, automotive, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience with a proven track record.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency.
  • Experience delivering presentations to large audiences.
  • Familiarity with I-CAR educational programs and technical services.
  • Consultative selling expertise and ability to influence decision-makers.
