The organization was established by representatives of the collision repair, automotive, and insurance industries in 1979 and has doubled its revenue over the last six years.

 

Today, the I-CAR brand is stronger than it has been in 40 years of operation and has gained a worldwide reputation. There is momentum and excitement among its committed workforce, instructors and volunteers to continue to help the organization grow and expand its breadth of reach and scale. I-CAR leadership believes that the future of the organization will be importantly influenced by its continuing innovation and relevance of its products, technical programs and services.

 

Position Summary 

The Principal, Business Development is responsible for cultivating existing customer relationships and establishing new relationships within the collision repair industry. technical services. This individual serves as the field liaison with volunteer committees, schools and collision repair businesses and interacts with shop owners, managers, technical school administrators and instructors. Promoting I-CAR education, training, products, and services. While achieving continued growth and revenue generation.  

 

We are currently seeking candidates who reside in the following region.  

South-CentralLouisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, and New Mexico.

 

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Schedules regular sales calls, either in person, by phone, email, or virtual meeting with new and established customers within the assigned region and communicates industry conditions, trends, and needs to executive staff. 
  • Responsible for revenue generation and expense controls to meet financial plan/goal within assigned region. Requires ability to read and understand financial statements and associated documents. 
  • Works across industry segments (Collision Repair, Insurance, OEM, Supplier, Education), delivering presentations and bringing sales opportunities and revenue growth to I-CAR, to meet the organization’s annual revenue budget and goal attainment.  
  • Works with executive staff to set annual regional revenue goals for all product lines, campaigns, and other key goals. Assists in annual planning and forecasting  
  • Responsible for regular communications to committee markets and volunteers (through e-mail, telephone, personal visits, and virtual meetings), pertaining to Industry updates, organizational updates, region performance, fundraising events, customer facing events,   
  • Recruits and trains volunteer committee members within the region.  
  • Responsible for Career Technical Education growth and maintenance within the region. Visits schools within the region annually, interacting with administration, instructors, and students, providing insight about industry needs, opportunities, and the overall program continuity.  
  • Assists Career Technical Education instructors in person, by phone, email, or virtual meeting to train and support the use and delivery of I-CAR curriculum. Participates with Automotive Service Excellence and other supporting groups to support the Career Technical Education community by attending career fairs, open houses, student days and any other functions deemed necessary to promote I-CAR. 
  • Promotes regular collaboration and teamwork with the Sales Center employees., Participates in campaigns or other initiatives to support Gold Class, subscription, and OEM/Insurance relations.  
  • Regularly participates in personal/professional development, including I-CAR training and industry related courses or programs.  
  • Attends I-CAR meetings, NACE meetings, and Trade Shows and Industry events to interact with customers, volunteers, and Instructors. Delivers presentations at industry events to promote I-CAR programs, products, and services. 

 

Travel: We are currently seeking candidates who reside within the South-Central Region. This position requires travel throughout the region to support and fortify organizational growth, revenue generation, and industry needs. Travel may require one or multiple overnight stays. Some weekend travel may be required. 

 

 Job Requirements  

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.  
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry is preferred. 
  • 5+ years B2B sales experience is preferred.  
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred 
  • Experience presenting to large groups is preferred. 
  • Experience in reading and understanding profit/loss statements and other financial documents is preferred. 
  • Prior involvement with I-CAR educational programming and technical services is strongly preferred.
