Position Summary: The Principal, Registered Apprenticeship Programs position is a dynamic role that will support I-CAR's Talent Programming work through the program administration and partner management of our Registered Apprenticeship Programs. This individual will work as a key member of a cross functional team accountable for a new strategic endeavor by I-CAR. This initiative will address the critical shortage of technicians in the collision repair inter-industry and help to ensure the safety and well-being of over 30 million drivers on the road. 

 

The individual in this role has an exciting opportunity to both directly support partners that seek to enact a Registered Apprenticeship Program and manage I-CAR's program administration. Through these efforts, this individual will contribute to building a new initiative within our organization from the ground up with support from team members and a supervising Director. A strong applicant will bring significant experience in managing key aspects of government programs like Registered Apprenticeship Programs to this role. This unique position within a 501(c)(6) will enable the right professional to gain experience within our industry while driving a mission with the potential for significant social impact. 

 

Essential Job Functions:  

  • Commit to ongoing education regarding program requirements for Registered Apprenticeship Programs at both state and federal levels 
  • Serve as administrator of I-CAR's Registered Apprenticeship Program and monitor all issues related to compliance, record keeping, and associated activities 

  • Serve as subject matter expert for Registered Apprenticeship Programs for both I-CAR staff and its partners 

  • Communicate with state and federal agencies when needed to ensure programmatic alignment with requirements 

  • Commit to becoming literate in the economic, technological, public policy, and social issues related to our mission and new strategic endeavor 

  • Collaborate with Registered Apprentice Program partners through written communication, in-person events, and virtual meetings to enable organizations to successfully operate and manage Registered Apprenticeship Programs 

  • Manage the administration of Registered Apprenticeship Programs through the information database system, RAPIDS 

  • Collaborate with members of the Product team and key project members across all teams to ensure alignment of activities 

 

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Must be self-directed; motivated to independently execute projects; and actively contribute as part of a new team. 

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  

  • At least three years of relevant work experience in both the management and external partnership development of a government program like Registered Apprenticeship Programs required; state or federal public agency work experience strongly preferred. 

  • At least two years of experience with an information database system required; RAPIDS experience preferred.
